I am the founder and CEO of Gloir.K which is a non-profit organization that serves professionals, children, and adults with education programmes on disaster risk reduction, disarmament, non-proliferation, counter-terrorism, safety, security, and environmental conservation while conducting research on community-based safety and security for improving psychological resilience. Also, work as a subject matter expert to CRDF Global and expert in Disaster Risk Reduction to UN agencies. Further, l am an advisor to CEEDASIA and South Asian Training and Research Centre, Director/First Vice President/Global Leadership Team Coordinator, Lions Club of Colombo Ceylon Excellence. Also a member of the Centre for Women’s Research.

I am comprised of 14 plus years of work experience in the field of crisis management, safety and security, technology and gender-sensitive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Disaster Risk Management (DRM). In addition, I worked as an International and national consultant/staff for Foreign and Local Universities, UNDP, World Bank, GFDRR, UNISDR, UNICEF, IUCN, JICA, etc.

My main strength in having a successful career has been the ability to develop innovative implementing strategies to run multiple programmes simultaneously. Also, developing integrated monitoring and evaluation framework for tracking multiple programmes’ progress, success, and failure.

Having obtained the Doctorate in Disaster Management from the University of Huddersfield (UK), in recognition of developing a people-centered strategic framework including multi-hazard, gender, counterterrorism, disarmament, non-proliferation, and technology aspects I strongly believe my academic excellence combined with my professional expertise will drive me for better serving the global community.
